Happy Twenty Eleven

posted by tristan @ 1/01/2011 12:30:00 AM

First and foremost, greetings to all readers and a Happy New Year to you and your love ones. What a journey in 2010. If you're keeping up to my postings, well, I only did once in May which was a pretty random write up. And the one before was just a day before ushering 2010.

How time flies. I think it has been a great year for me. I've finally got my Bachelor degree and fulfilled my wish to graduate in Perth in September. In June, I decided to go back to ANA to assume the previous position from where I left in May 2009. It will never be about money but rather the opportunities given. With the upcoming joint venture with United and Continental, 2011 seems to be an exciting and busy year ahead.

Just yesterday, I saw one of my Japanese colleague who decided to call it quit after 1 year and 9 months with us. Uzaki-san decided to fly with Jetstar as a cabin crew. I'm delighted that she's chasing after her dream, however, the thoughts are slowly creeping into me once again. I thought I have shook it off but I didn't. I know and I'm quite certain that without donning that SQ uniform, my mind without be at ease or perhaps, I won't be able to move on. It's not exactly a wise or perfect career choice but it's all about keeping my dream alive and not having any regrets.

Now 2011 is here, I'm penning down this year's resolution:

1. Promotion - I guess patience is really the key. I'm trying my best to perfect myself in the current position and scope that I'm in. After the appraisal in August, I would have known if my effort pays off. If it takes another year or another 2 more years to move up Japanese corporations hierachy, I will call it quit. Or if my partner is promoted on par with me (for his well-known carelessness and shit work), I would do the same as well.

2. I wish for good health. Nothing beats having good health, both mentally and physically. Same for my family and friends. Please take good care of yourselves. We're withering fast each year.

3. Europe and Korea - I'm making plans to visit this 2 places. I'm so tempted to make the most out of my staff benefits and join Insight Vacation alone for the Europe trip. Plans to Korea with BFFs seems to be a lil' unstable with possibility of Nes extended stay in US.

4. Flying career - Will I realise it in 2011? or 2012? I will definitely give it another go.

5. Keeping fit - Continue to work hard with my gym routine and gain weight. I'm seeing results already and I know I need to be consistent, pump harder for better results. :)

6. Building wealth.

7. Personal development through reading (increase in the number of non-fictional titles and write up), attending classes and making the most out of each weekend.

Let's be realistic, 7 resolutions would do just fine.

Once again, Happy New Year to everyone! Not sure when I'll be writing again (maybe last day of 2011 or 1st day of 2012?) Anyway, have a splendid year ahead!
